1st Kids Preschool and Childcare Center is located inside First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa, USA.  We provide a warm, nurturing Christian environment that meets the development needs of the "whole child".  The center recognizes the uniqueness of individual children, and will encourage children to develop their capabilities and interests.  We respect parents as the primary provider of care and nurturing, and believe that we are partners in your child's care and education.

Hours of Operation

7:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday, except major holidays

serving children 6 weeks - 6 years of age

Goals

  • To encourage social development by providing opportunities for sharing, making friends, solving problems and recognizing and accepting others.

  • To foster emotional development through expressions of thoughts and feelings, taking responsibility for one's own actions and exercising appropriate independence.

  • To enhance the physical development of gross and fine motor skills through the use of manipulative toys, games and activities.

  • To facilitate intellectual development by widening language and creative experiences in order to increase knowledge, basic concepts and skills.

 

Licensing

1st Kids Preschool & Childcare is licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services and conforms to all state laws regulating the operation of childcare centers.  The center is licensed to accommodate infants and toddlers as well as offering several appropriate preschool classrooms.

Nutrition

1st Kids Preschool & Childcare provides breakfast, morning snack, full lunch and afternoon snack.  All meals and snacks are well-balanced and meet the nutritional requirements of children.  1st Kids participates in the Child & Adult Food Program, a subsidy of the USDA.

Organization 

1st Kids Preschool & Childcare is a non-profit service, operating under policies set by an independent board of directors.
