Apportionments: Follow the Money
If you take a look at our church budget, you’ll notice a large item called “apportionments”.
Apportionments are the monies we pay to support the structure of the United Methodist Church beyond our local Cedar Falls First church.
We are one of the top-ten churches in the Iowa Conference and our apportionments, like everything else, seem to cost more every year, and you may wonder how our church’s share is computed and what exactly we are paying for. To help answer questions like that, take a look at the “Hope Made Real” Narrative Budget publication from the Communications Office of the Iowa Conference. It contains numbers, statistics, graphics, and real-world stories of how our dollars support the larger United Methodist Church and how we make a difference in the lives of others around the world.
